Max Gloop runs a secluded farm in the middle of nowhere that specialises in the biggest and fattest pigs. He has no tolerance for trespassers on his farm and will shoot them. He is a fat man but he finds his huge size "manly"  He is a simple man and doesn't use alot if brain power just using instinct. He has no problem in his way of life, he thinks men should be big and not "weak" and as thin as "sticks" so he fatten's his son up and gets him lots of food. He's never minded disgusting things.
