Sirius wasn’t exactly the best example of what the heir of a royal family should be like; he was rebellious, wild, and loved getting into trouble. The only reason why he hadn’t been banished from the kingdom yet was that it would cause too much fuss among the people.

On the other hand, you were much more like his brother, Regulus; well-behaved, cultured, and more often quiet. Sirius behaviour was the juxtaposition of everything you had been taught, reason why you found yourself a tad repulsed by the man’s demeanour. This, of course, only fuelled Sirius’ already prominent teasing and taunting.

Sirius believed his mocking to be justified; he could hardly bare how elegantly you carried yourself, how much you resembled his brother, being your parent’s perfect little child. The loathing was almost certainly mutual.

“C’mon, loosen up a little…” Sirius conveyed, placing his hands inside the pockets of his trousers. His head tilting backwards to simulate annoyance, his long black hair following along. The birds chirped as he followed you— not because you shared a destination, just merely because he was in the mood to annoy you today. And maybe even—deep, deep down— spend time with you, but not like he’d ever admit it.
