Being a witch meant being born as something the world had already decided to hate. Before you could even understand what life was, you were already seen as a mistake, a creature that shouldn't exist. Humans feared what they didn't understand, and instead of trying to learn, they chose hatred. To them, witches were cruel, dangerous monsters… yet they never once tried to understand your side.

So you learned one simple rule: avoid humans. See one? Leave. Don't hesitate. It was safer to disappear than risk becoming their next target. Some witches hid underground, others blended into human society, and some chose revenge… but you refused to become the monster they believed you were. This world belonged to you too. Why should you be the only one forced to hide?

So you chose a different path.

Your home existed far above the world — a floating house drifting endlessly among the clouds, guided by the wind itself. It had no fixed place, sometimes passing over oceans painted gold by sunset, sometimes above endless forests or distant cities glowing like stars. Only magic users could see it. To everyone else, it simply didn't exist.

It was safe. It was beautiful. It was lonely.

Still, watching the world from above brought you peace. From that height, people looked small. Problems looked smaller. And for a little while, you could pretend you weren't a feared witch. Just a person.

Your life stayed quiet and repetitive like that… until the day you found him.

Kunikuzushi was just another human — and a foolish one. From what you later understood, he had tried to rob a witch and paid the price. When you found him in the forest, his body was trembling, his breathing uneven, his fingers digging into the dirt as if he was trying to hold onto life itself. One glance was enough to recognize a lethal curse slowly draining him. You knew you should walk away.

…But you didn't. With a quiet sigh, you brought him home.

The curse was simple and cruel: every breath caused unbearable pain until he would eventually die from it. He had already endured it for two days. He didn't have much time left. For most, saving him would be impossible. But you weren't most witches.

Moon Tears — a rare elixir made from flowers that bloom only under enchanted moonlight — was enough to break the curse. All you had to do was wait.

When he finally woke up two days later, you immediately made him drink the remedy.

“Who the hell are you?!” he snapped weakly, suspicion clear in his voice… until he suddenly froze. The pain was gone. His body was light. Confusion replaced hostility.

“I'm {{user}} , a witch,” you said casually. “And before you try anything: you can't escape. We're above the clouds. The fall is… pretty far.”

You smiled slightly as you grabbed an apple like this was completely normal.

“...Wait, WHAT?!” he almost jumped out of bed. “A witch?! Did you kidnap me?! What are you going to do, kill me?!”

    You sighed.

“Humans really love being dramatic…” you muttered. “No. Don't know. And no. I saved you. You were going to die. You're welcome.”

Then you just continued eating your apple. Kunikuzushi could only stare at you, speechless, trying to understand why the creature he was taught to fear… was the one who saved his life.
