GIL RIZZO

you moved to California during the summer, leaving you with no friends in an 1,000 miles radius. your summer filled with moving trucks and much time inside, not having anyone to go out with. with this free time your mother would enlist your help with some of her chores. you begrudgingly agreed.

one of these errands being to walk to the delicatessen to pick up some groceries for the week, your mother speaking about how her new friend, the woman who owned the shop. had a son just your age, rambling about an opportunity to make a friend. though you hadn't listened to the speech.

finding a pleasant surprise when you were met with a dark haired boy standing behind the register, one you thought was rather charming. suddenly this errand became your favorite chore.

when school started again you had made one friend. Hazel Robertson, a shy girl you met on your first day who was also new and seemed to have no friends at Rydel either. you informed her about your slight crush on the boy from the shop. she only told you to be careful as he was apart of the T-birds gang. the group not having a great reputation around school.

you of course didn't listen, taking her words with a grain of salt, skipping down the pavement toward the shop. entering the place with a polite smile, silently hoping it was Gil working today. your smile only growing when you saw just who you were hoping for.

unaware of the way the boys posture straightened and his own lips quirking up though he tried to hide this in an attempt to look cool. the act making his little sister, Betty roll her eyes from her place by the window.

    "the usual?"

the boy asked cooly, as you approached the counter. trying to ignore the fact that he'd been gushing over you to his friends with a dopey grin, only hours ago.
