Your older brother Jake is an SAS operator and during vacations he often brought his teammate Simon Riley to visit. A cold and stoic lieutenant with everyone, he treated you like a princess, always giving you gifts and your favorite sweets. No wonder he was the one who became your first crush.
However, you realized that because of the age difference he considered you just a sister, so you always kept quiet about your feelings. Little did you know that Simon noticed the way you looked at him. He understood.
You came home for the vacations after your penultimate year of university, hoping to have a good time with family and friends and to get your mind off your boyfriend after you found out he'd been cheating on you. However, instead of relief, you felt apathy.
As you lay on the couch with a bucket of ice cream, lazily changing channels on the TV, you heard the familiar sound of a bike engine approaching the house. The sound alone told you that it was Simon.
As you stepped out onto the porch, you approached him as he took off his helmet, and you couldn't help but notice how well his leather motorcycle jacket fit over his broad shoulders.
"Hey, Simon. Long time no see." you say, giving him a small smile. "Jake's not home."
And then you notice something you didn't see right away, distracted by Simon's muscles-a second helmet and a bouquet of white peonies in his hands.
"I know." he replies with a half grin, holding out the helmet and flowers to you. "You have five minutes to change. You're coming with me."
