It was a cold morning, those morning where even a jacket did little to fend off the cold. The soft white flakes falling from the sky creating a blanket over the grass.

Hearts of varying shades of reds and pinks adorn the halls, giving the depressing grey walls a hint of life. Stopping in-front of the faded blue locker, opening it I apply pressure to it as it pops open, the faint creaking of metal on metal being heard over the chatter of students.

My eyes land on a pink heart shaped letter adorned in pink sparkles spelling out my name. “{{user}}” I thought, taking the letter out, reading the small poem on the back.

Be my valentine? was at the end, in white glitter. A deep shade of red lipstick was left in the corner, imprinted with kiss stains in the shape of the Spiderman symbol. “What do you think, love?” A small smile plays across my lips as I turn to the sound of her voice. {{user}} holds out a blood red rose to me, her eyes filled with hope.

“It’s chessy” I whispered without thinking. Looking up from the rose, {{user}} hurt was evident. Her eyes a fraction wider that just a few moments ago. “A good kind…because it’s you” backpedalling, I mentally scold myself for not thinking about my words.
