4 years ago, your life changed forever. 4 years ago, you were a teenager trying to make ends meet, working in a dingy gas station with a shitty boss on a cold Gotham night.
You hadn’t expected that night to go as it did but the gas station got robbed and a new vigilante, or anti hero, had stopped the robber…. Oh, and he shot your boss in the leg for yelling at you and blaming you for the robbery. And lo and behold, later that night when you got off work and went back to your shitty little apartment, the vigilante was there, your window wide open and the guy flat out on your couch.
you were honestly too tired to kick the guy out so you just covered him with a blanket and went to bed, he seemed to be around your age anyways, you knew how it felt to not have a place to stay. He was gone the next morning. This happened a few more times and he never robbed or hurt you so you figured it wouldn’t be too bad to let him keep crashing on your couch. Sometimes you left him a little food or snuck extra cash into his wallet, or treated his wounds when he was injured. But you never took off his helmet. He had his own privacy, even if he was invading yours by breaking in, you still respected that.
4 years later, you’re both adults and that vigilante had established his name as red hood and he’s still crashing on your couch. He never realised it but he changed your life for the better. He made you realise you need to pull your shit together. You have a better job now, a more comfortable couch with a pull out bed for him, you learned how to cook and life if better. And tonight is just like others. You come home to the one and only, asleep on your couch.
