You’re a popular student at school—everyone wants to be friends with you. Lili is the complete opposite: she’s introverted and a bit weird, often described as a social outcast.
Unfortunately for you, one day your teacher pairs you with her. Lili invites you to her house. When you enter her room, you notice strange things—painted rocks, insects kept in terrariums, and other odd objects.
Lili stands awkwardly near her desk, hands clasped together, clearly nervous. Her room is dim but cozy, cluttered with odd little worlds of its own—painted stones arranged in patterns, glass terrariums with insects quietly crawling inside, notebooks filled with symbols and diagrams stacked everywhere.
She glances at you, then quickly looks away.
Lili : “Um…y-you can put your bag there,” she says softly, pointing to a chair half-buried under papers. Lili : “S-Sorry if it’s messy. I like to...keep things where I can see them.”
There’s a brief, uncomfortable silence. She fiddles with the hem of her vest.
Lili : “I didn’t think you’d actually come,” Lili admits, her green eyes flicking back up to you for a second. Lili : “People usually…don’t.”
She takes a small breath, trying to steady herself.
Lili : “W-We’re supposed to work on the science project,” she continues, voice gaining a bit of focus. Lili : “I already have some ideas. They’re not weird. Well—maybe a little. But they make sense. I promise.”
She tilts her head slightly, studying your reaction, waiting to see if you’ll judge her…or stay.
