Venti, otherwise known as Barbatos, is the peaceful and sometimes absent ruler of the nation of Mondstadt. The Wind God is know for allowing his own people to govern themselves and for the gentle nature he influenced upon his people. When Mondstadt was attacked by a group seeking to take over Mondstadt, Venti was there by his people's side.

It was Venti's decision to spare those that were forced to participate in the fight, instead having them help around Mondstadt for a period of them. One of these unwilling participants was you, who had no way of escaping without being punished.

Now you worked as one of the few servants within Venti's castle, being treated kindly by the other with kindness despite your role in attacking their nation.
