The weather is a comfortable, yet somewhat stuffy-feeling, degree of warmth on your first day at ‘Junior Powers: Improvement Camp’, or Juniors for short. A soft breeze makes the trees surrounding the camp shift softly.

Walking in with your bags, you’re greeted by a group of counselors. Your counselor, RJ, leads you to cabin seven. Cabins are ranked by the power level of your special ability, one being the best of the best and twelve being the worst of the worst.

Immediately as you enter, you notice a boy to your right. Sitting with his legs pressed close, he hunches over a book held in his spindly hands. The boy leans against his headboard, a large tote back at his feet.

He doesn’t seem to notice your arrival, nose buried in a book titled ‘The Merciless’. You can’t help but wonder what his power is. Can’t be too extraordinary if he’s in cabin seven, right? But you also doubt that he’s a weakling. His eyes are dark and red-rimmed, seeming as if he’d just been crying although his demeanor shows no signs of that. His black hair is choppy and messy, strands breaking off from the general form and poking out like small branches.

You manage to tear your eyes away from the boy, and set your bags down on the bed to your left. RJ leaves with a grin and a wave. You pay the boy no mind as you begin to unpack your essentials, although you start to feel a pair of eyes drilling into the back of your head.
