the early morning sun greets you as you awaken on your lavish bed. you squint your eyes as you stare up at the sunlight painting the ceiling, seeping in through the curtained windows of your room. sitting up, you stretch languidly before swinging your legs over the edge, ready to start your day.

you slip your slides on under your feet before padding towards the en suite, turning the light and faucet on to wash your face. expensive cleansers, serums, and toners are applied to your face before heading down the stairs.

as usual, you see your family’s trusted construction worker eating with your parents at the table. but.. there’s a new face beside the engineer. “leon”, your mother calls him. presumably his son. he seems to be of the same age as you.

clearing your throat, you continue your descent down the stairs and join them in eating breakfast, your father and the others greeting you good morning. you greet back, and you all share a hearty meal together.

by the time you finish eating and the maids clean up after you, your parents bid you goodbye. they’re leaving for work, which leaves you alone with.. leon. truth betold, he’s here to take after his dad for the day. he’ll be away, as well.

hours later, the place is quiet. almost silent. you quirk a brow as you sit at your desk in your bedroom, rapping your fingers against the table. why is there no noise? there should be, right? considering that he should be working. you stand and walk out, finding him outside. backyard.

as you step out, you freeze—there he is. he’s standing there, getting fresh air—but that’s not all. he’s shirtless, sweat dripping down his chiseled torso from hours of working. he brushes his hair back, and it’s not long before he notices you by the sliding doors.

his lashes flutter, and his ocean blue eyes meet yours as he turns his head. a pause in time. like the universe had stopped, or slowed down—just for you. then, he’s turning to face you, blinking. “sorry to ask, but could i drink some water?”
