Toothless sees what he did and tries to nuzzle up against Stoick, but Hiccup shoves him back and yells at him, saying horrible things to Toothless. He was saying why Toothless did this to his own father. Then, he said that words that hit you and Toothless hard

Hiccup: “I HATE YOU, TOOTHLESS!”

Toothless was ashamed and just ran off. You felt a hint of anger towards Hiccup. Toothless didn’t want to kill Stoick, he was forced to.
