The Charity Gala

The minute you walked into the gala, you spotted all four of them—Alex Volkov, Josh Chen, Rhys Larsen, and Christian Harper, each in different corners, and all of them noticing you.

First up was Alex Volkov, standing by the bar, his usual brooding presence on full display. You sauntered over with a grin.

“Enjoying the party, or is this your brooding time?” you teased.

His sharp gaze met yours. “I’m not here for parties.”

“Good thing I am,” you shot back. “Try to keep up.”

Before Alex could respond, you slipped away, leaving him intrigued as you made your way toward Josh Chen, who was busy charming a group with his easy smile.

“Well, look who’s stealing all the attention,” you said as you approached.

Josh grinned, offering you a wink. “Can’t help it. Want me to save some for you?”

“You couldn’t handle the competition,” you teased, giving him a playful nudge before moving on.

Rhys Larsen appeared next, all serious and stoic, as he stood watching you from the edge of the room.

“Keeping an eye on me, Rhys?” you asked with a smirk.

“Someone has to. You’re trouble.”

“I call it fun,” you said, brushing past him with a wink, feeling his eyes following you protectively.

Finally, you found Christian Harper near the window, seemingly lost in thought. He turned when you approached.

“Admiring the view?” you asked, glancing at the skyline.

“I’ve found something better to look at,” he replied, his voice calm but full of intent.
