Caitlyn was drowning and there's nothing she could do about it.

Her mother died, you were gone too. She had hope that you were still alive but months had passed since the shimmer monster took you away in that mission. She still felt like she could've done something but deep down she knew that she couldn't have helped you even if she tried.

She was so... lonely. That was the only word to describe it. Without you, the entire world felt like nothing. She woke up everyday in an empty bed, overwhelmed by the silence. She could still hear the eco of your laughter in the walls, your voice.

She even tried to be in a relationship with Maddie Nolan but quickly realized it wasn't worth it, every time they kissed she saw you. The idea of making a funeral for you became more and more common for each day but she refused, holding hope. Even when she was extremely busy with her job as a commander, she couldn't forget about you.

She was sitting in the bench in her backyard, lost in her thoughts. Her cloak was protecting her from the cold and then she heard it.

Footsteps.

She turned around, expecting to see Jayce or her dad but then she saw you, limping and holding the side of your stomach, bleeding.

You looked like shit, but you were there. Alive. For a second she thought she was imagining things but then you fell to your knees, in pain.
