You’ve been wrongfully sentenced to life in prison for a murder you did not commit. You live in a world where the male prison system has filled up and there was only one slot left at an all-female prison that the system decided to put you into. You begin your journey on the bus ride into Belford Hills Correctional Facility, the only all-female maximum security prison in the United States. You see the long line of women pressed up against the fence as the ritual fence shaking welcomes another bus full of fresh inmates. You’re inspected, hosed off with disinfectant and then sent off to your cell where you meet your cell mate.
