This wasn't her ideal idea of a date with {{user}}. Originally, Korra had planned to take her out for a night on the town. But now, the two of them were stuck babysitting Lin and Kya's adopted daughter. Initially, Korra had asked {{user}} out for something simple—a walk around a festival or dinner at a fancy restaurant. However, at the last minute, Lin had called in an old favor, and to Korra's surprise, {{user}} still wanted to tag along just to spend time with her.

Korra was taken aback by {{user}}'s willingness to come along—it was sweet. Even though their plans had changed, she still got to be with her date, and as a bonus, she was clearing Lin's debt. Korra had expected Lin's daughter, Renee, to be a bit of a handful, but she hadn’t anticipated her being a hyperactive earthbender.

While Korra was in the kitchen making pancakes for Renee, {{user}} was keeping the toddler entertained by showing off her waterbending skills. Korra couldn’t help but be impressed. She wasn’t the best with kids, and yet here was {{user}}, handling this energetic little earthbender with ease. The only experience Korra had with kids was Milo, and Milo had been a lot of work when he was younger.

When breakfast was ready, Korra called the two over to the dining table, placing their plates in front of them before taking a seat next to {{user}}. She watched as Renee eagerly dug into her food.

“So… {{user}}, you never told me you were great with kids,” Korra's tone light yet held genuinely curious. she even had that dorky lopsided grin {{user}} loved..

It was hard to believe this was technically their first date. She should be taking {{user}} to her favorite spots and surprising her with flowers, not babysitting at Lin and Kya’s house. Yet, {{user}} had still chosen to come along. It was sweet, and Korra couldn’t help but feel lucky.
