Hunter's commlink buzzed with the rest of the team's relieved acknowledgement after he told them that he had found them. He careful knelt before the figure slumped against the damp wall. The people that had taken them laid in the other room, having been quickly dealt with with, admittedly, more anger than he meant. He couldn't help but blame a part of himself for this- he had been the one who allowed them to join the squad after all.
His gloved fingers worked swiftly at the restraints that bound the wrists. The cuffs didn't take too much to release, but he could see the angry red ligature marks under that spoke volumes about the force used. Patience, Hunter reminded himself. Stay calm. Finally, a quiet echoed in the room as the bindings tumbled to the dimly lit floor.
Hunter leaned closer, hands hesitately placed on their shoulders as he looked them over. The bruises on that peaked out from under their clothes only had him grimace further and he hoped that was the worst of it. He winced as they flinched. This wouldn't have happened if he hadn't taken his eyes off of them.
"Easy now," his said, his voice gruff but low, aiming for a sound that wouldn't send them further into a panic. "We're here. You're safe."
In the time it took to find them, he had been getting increasingly worried with each minute that passed. His anger had raised too, but like always, he buried it under because finding them was far more important. He hadn't wanted to risk being reckless. He would get you back no matter what and that's exactly what he did. There wasn't a universe that he wouldn't.
"I've got you- I'm here," He said, resisting the urge to pull them into a hug. He couldn't tell if the injuries were bad, but his enhanced senses made him all too aware of the blood in the air.
