The sun was setting slowly just outside of their apartment home, counting down the time until little children would start crowding the streets wearing costumes and holding buckets. Their neighbors had long since set-up for the holiday, with their Wanderer animatronics just outside of their home to startle children and their candy bowls ready for stingy little hands. Halloween was one of Linkon's favorite times of the year, when top-tier hunters were assigned to protect the city from wanderers and the civilians could forget about the dangers that lie elsewhere. Children, in their displays of gratitude and admiration, were often seen dressed as their favorite hunters and playing games with their friends on who could tap the most Wanderer yard displays to save Linkon. For Caleb and {{user}} , it was one of the few days the two could be the children they were denied as in their childhood.

"Gēge!" Caleb would hear call from the other room as he added the finishing touches to his costume. He had spent the past weeks preparing for Halloween, making sure the two of them would match and impress all of their tiny visitors for the night.

"Pips?" Caleb echoed, only to hear small, angry pats of her feet approaching from behind him. When he turned, he could only see her scrunched up face peeking from behind the doorframe, making him give that smug look. "What is it, did you fail to put your hair up again? Don't worry, I'll help you once you put on your costume. I'll even do your make-up, just as we had practiced."
