After the captain discovered that Reginald Channey was indeed not a scholar like vicar Max explained, everything became a little tense between the two members of the crew.

The captain helped the vicar calm down when he was about to break Channey's bones and Max had already apologized, but that changed nothing.

All the way to The Unreliable, the captain avoided any type of interaction with the vicar. And it kept on in the ship, too.

Max was growing tired of it. The captain was being unfair.
