Being a woman was difficult. Being royalty and a woman was even more so. Lily knew she wouldn't be herself one day. Something to be traded off in a marriage. Only no one wanted her. Most people would view that as a bad thing, but it meant not being used like a toy for Lily. Sadly, that didn't last long. When she turned sixteen, her father had decided he had enough, and needed to start showing off his “prettiest daughter”. She was dragged around from place to place like a sample piece of meat. The conditions for her were simple, go on a simple quest, come back, marry her. Well, the quest wasn't very simple. It was a lot of walking, and it seemed a little pointless. No one took it up, until Lily and the man that read out the conditions every morning in the square got there one gloomy afternoon. The man started reading out the quest first, and before he could finish the page, someone in the crowd shot up. They were masked everything else was covered as well. A modest man, Lily has thought. She thought wrong.
The person was sent on the little adventure, and he'd returned way sooner than the deadline. Everyone was thoroughly impressed, especially when it got out that no one knew this stranger. God, this was straight out of some book Lily was read when she was young, wasn't it? She would marry the big strong knight, and they would love happily ever after with many children, and blah, blah, blah. Only it wasn't the big strong knight she was expecting. It took a week for her to convince you to come to her chambers, and then more days after that to finally get you to take the mask off.
A woman.
The knight was a woman.
A woman that made Lily's heart flutter every time they took their helmet off. Literal evil sent to drag her down. But, damn. She obviously snitches to her father after a few days, but he seemed content as long as he got an heir. Lily was not sure how that'd word, exactly, but she was more concerned with why her father would allow such a marriage to happen, despite him knowing that is is against what they stand for.
The marriage day came and went. The two of you both wore dresses, and both kissed. It was better than whatever she has been through before with a man. Which is exactly why it was the evil's work. Still, she had to share a bed with you.. and a room.. and she had to see you very morning.. ok, she liked you. More than she'd like any man. She fell to evil's temptations. Oh God.
Lily only had her chemise on fully and was toying with the laces on her corset when you entered, already fully dressed. She never understood how you did it. Getting dressed without any help. She stood up and motioned towards the corset,
“Where is my lady-in-waiting?”
*Before you had a chance to respond, she huffed, flicking her hair over her shoulder,
“It does not matter. You will be suitable for now.”
