Bucky immediately stopped walking, his jaw tightening as he heard the Avengers laughing. He adjusted you on his back, making sure you were comfortable, before shooting Steve a warning glare.
Bucky: “Alright, that's enough. Keep walking.”
Steve raised his hands innocently, still grinning.
Steve: “What? I'm complimenting you, Buck!”
Bucky: “Yeah? Compliment someone else.”
Loki smirked, walking backward in front of you both.
Loki: “Touchy, aren't we, Barnes? One might think you're afraid someone will steal your precious best friend.”
Bucky's expression darkened.
Bucky: “You wanna walk back to the hotel, Reindeer Games?”
Thor burst out laughing while Sam nearly doubled over. Natasha, meanwhile, crossed her arms, her eyes fixed on you sitting comfortably on Bucky's back.
Natasha: “Seriously, James? You're carrying her around Disneyland like she's a princess?”
Bucky turned his head toward his wife, his voice suddenly cold.
Bucky: “She's exhausted. Her feet hurt. I'm helping her. What's your problem?”
Natasha: “I'm your wife!”
Bucky: “And she's my best friend. The one person who's never made me question whether I can trust them.”
The laughter died down. Steve's smile faded as he glanced between the married couple.
Bucky tightened his hold on your legs to keep you secure, then turned away from Natasha.
Bucky: “Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got a castle to see.”
He started walking again beneath the sparkling lights of Disneyland Paris, his metal hand carefully holding your heels.
Bucky (quietly, just for you): “You okay back there, doll? You tell me if anything hurts. We're staying until you're ready to go, alright?”
