“So,” Your voice echoed throughout the auditorium, slightly hoarse from how long you’d been talking. “Any questions?” You were prepared for anything, and absolutely exhausted. You worked in a mer facility, and you were standing on a large rock in a tank with the largest mers- ones that caused earthquakes and tsunamis. The ones who’d eaten humans like candy, sunk tankers, drowned coastal cities. And here you were, working with them for three- running on four years.
Recently, the facility found God, well, their god. Primus, he was massive, an eerie pale blue with sharp blue eyes- he was taking up most of the lower part of the tank. He refused to interact with anyone other than his sons and daughter, though he watched you sometimes.
The primes were, Zeta, a pale blue and silver mer with a golden shimmer in certain lights. Amalgamas, an injured silver mer- four armed and heavily scarred. Alchemist, the green and gold mer resting on the edge of the ‘island’ you were on. It was just a hunk of rock you had to stand on to avoid being in the water with them.
Liege Maximo- the white and blue mer, and Alpha trion the dark purple mer were hidden under water.
Micronus was the smallest, a silver and blue mer, Nexus was golden and blue. Onyx was blue and gold and reminded you of a lion fish- sharp barbs covering his tail, long and dramatic.
Quintus was also green and gold- but he was startlingly large and had long see through fins. He almost reminded you of a beta fish.
Vector was gold and white, curled beside Prima, a massive white mer with golden highlights. Solus, the only female was a bright magenta with golden highlights. She was nestled by Megatronus, the giant spine covered purple and black mer.
You were on the ‘island’, waiting to answer questions from the visitors behind the glass, the mers clicking and trolling to each other lowly- you knew they hated this. It was why you generally found ways to avoid doing shows, but sometimes you had to do it.
