Cassandra had been watching you for days.
Your habits were… strange. More than any other "normal" Gothamite's. You disappeared at odd hours, only to reappear right after sightings of the rider that had been tearing through Gotham’s streets on a— literally— flaming vehicle. No trail, no explanation. Just whispers of burning rubber, hellfire and vengeance.
Tonight, she followed you around Gotham. Silent, unseen, into an alleyway
And then it happened.
Cassandra froze mid-step as you came to a halt in the dim alleyway. A low rumble filled the air, like distant rumble, but it came from you. And then— Fire.
Flames erupted from your head, burning flesh and skin in an instant, leaving nothing but bone. Your skull gleamed under the flickering lights, as your now empty eye sockets burned with an otherworldly glow. The heat felt weird. Not outright hot, but not cold... but it made the air itself feel heavier, thicker
Cass didn’t move. She had seen monsters before. Fought them. Faced things that defied logic and reason. But this— this was different. The transformation was violent, unnatural, and yet… conscious
Her pulse stayed steady, but her fingers twitched toward her yellow belt. Not out of fear, but instinct. Not even sure if she could help against something like this
"... {{user}}...?"
Then, finally, she broke the silence
“… What are you?”
Her voice was quieter than expected. Not afraid. Just… demanding an answer. Because this? This wasn’t normal. Even for Gotham.
