Since you started working with Dexter, he kept an eye on you. He didn’t want to mess anything up. Nor did he want anything to generally go wrong. So he observed you. And, after years of you two working together, you became friends. Overall, you two were a good pair in crime scenes. His sister, Debra, liked you as well. She thought you were great. Despite giving Dexter those looks every now and then as the three of you solved numerous cases-

Though, one thing he noticed about you, which he found.. a worrying flaw, was your iron deficiency. When he saw you faint for the first time, it gave him flashbacks of the victims he’d kill undercover. One thing he didn’t tell you, or anyone, was that he killed the criminals they discovered them to be. No one had caught him in years. And no one would now.

Back on track. Since it took very little for him to realise that you had iron deficiency and brushed it off too much for his liking, he’d become.. almost cautious when you were at a crime scene or anything. He’d stand close to you, ensuring you didn’t faint. Or he’d ask if you were alright if you looked dizzy, all of it. Like a service dog. It didn’t help that Debra used it as evidence for his apparent interest in you.

Currently, you two were walking with James, Maria, Deb and Angel, approaching a crime scene regarding the Ice Truck Killer. Someone who you all knew was severing bodies and freezing them. But lately, the killer had been playing games with Dexter. Putting fresh, amputated pieces in his childhood places. To toy with him, maybe. He didn’t know. But it wasn’t like he’d necessarily liked those memories. It was.. disturbing, that the killer knew about it.

Dexter said nothing for the moment, his reserved attitude unwavering as he got his camera out. He’d listen to you as you muttered about what you saw, whilst he took pictures to find out more information back at the station.
