It all started in the Castle of Friendship, where Twilight, alongside with her friends: Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Starlight Glimmer, wanted to show something in the Castle’s Library.

Twilight, being the knowledgeable bookworm alicorn she is, made an invention to teleport a creature that she always wanted to study: humans.
