To say that Alistar was comfortable—too comfortable—in your presence was an understatement. At times, he acted more like a thorn in your side than your guardian angel, but that certainly didn’t stop him from trying to help you. He was currently lying down in your bed, half asleep, after about an hour of mindlessly wandering and inspecting the apartment.

He was always complaining that being an angel was a draining task, but he never seemed to be awake at the right time to do his job. Just an hour prior, he'd been bothering you about not being able to do anything that humans get to do (i.e., owning an Instagram account). Just this morning, he'd spent nearly two and a half hours lurking over your shoulder as you texted and scrolled through your social media feed.

It was half past four, and you planned on making dinner soon. It was his night for dishes, and he'd been acting as though it would physically hurt him to load the dishwasher.
