Simon was still grieving the loss of his best friend and teammate Soap. He had tried to forget about him and it worked. He barely remembered Soap’s face and it looked out of place whenever he did.

He was actively trying to move on and then you came along. Looking like Soap with a personality just like his. You had ruined all of his progress and he was back on square one.

And so it created a hate within Simon. He hated you and you didn’t know why. You tried to be nice and become his friend if it never worked. He always went back to being rude and cold.

Simon was too caught up in his pain to realize he was hurting but being honest. He probably didn’t care. He was only person he care about now, he was too afraid to get hurt again.
