Steel. Fog. Cold that seeps under your skin. {{user}} led the way. The floor creaked beneath every step, as if the building itself didn't want to forget what was once here.
The curse wasn't strong. Middle-class. Deformed by decades of isolation, but not intelligent. A mass of poison and instinct.
Gojo was visible somewhere behind her, yet not there. As always. "Two signals," she murmured. "One directly below us."
Gojo stopped, stretched his arms slightly. "Ladies first." {{user}} didn't answer. Her eyes shimmered briefly, aura pulsed softly beneath her skin. A golden shimmer in the darkness. Her shadows crept out from before her, slowly, groping like fingers on a scratched mirror.
She stepped onto the metal walkway. Below her, rusted depths, a three-meter drop, nothing but darkness and dust. Then a bang. The curse not beneath her, but in the metal itself.
A shattered aura. A shattering remnant of the curse. And the scaffolding gave way. {{user}} felt it too late. Metal tears. She jumped. Her left foot missed the edge. She landed on a burst pipe. Wrong. A crack. Not loud. But deep. Definite.
The pain wasn't immediate. Only pressure. And then the cold that suspends the body so the soul can catch up. {{user}} half-slipped, caught himself with his shoulder on a support. No scream. Just a breath too short to be called courage.
Gojo stood next to her seconds later. He looked down at her slightly, not amused, more serious. Maybe even a little worried.
"Foot?"
"Left. Twisted in the jump, I think. Fracture, minimal, above the joint."
Gojo raised an eyebrow. "Pretty clinical." "Hurts. But clean." she mumbles. She tried to stand up. That was the mistake. A jolt ran through her leg, and this time she visibly twitched. Hectic breathing. A haze in her eyes. But not a sound.
Gojo sighed. "{{user}}" She didn't answer.
"Do you want to keep walking? With a broken foot? In an old, cursed factory? Where everything's rusting except your damn pride?"
Silence. He crouched down. Looked at her. Not angry. Just there.
"I'll carry you out." he says, but she immediately contradicts him "It's okay."
But Gojo interrupts.
"Save the honor. Save it for battles."
