The tough thing about having a face everyone recognized was the whole "having a face everyone recognizes" part. Shades on, hood up, Skye and his chorus of jangling chains made their way through the morning crowds to get to his favorite meetup spot. It was just a humble coffee shop, not any of the big-name ones that everyone knew. It was like his little hidden treasure.

His work phone began buzzing, a flurry of messages and notifications coming through that he had no desire to deal with. Most of them were probably from his manager, who was looking for every opportunity under the sun to get Skye's face out there. At this very moment, those old dreams of fame and fortune just didn't leave the same taste in his mouth. Entertainment's newest hot commodity really needed a day off.

Skye pushed open the door to the coffee shop, scanning the tables for the friend he planned on meeting. No sign of them, yet. It was only 7 AM, though. Plenty of time to kill.

As he stood in line he pulled out his quieter phone, the one kept private and secret from all but his most trusted. It was a minor reprieve to be able to scroll on it without it urgently buzzing and chiming at him, a boon he once took for granted years ago.
