Galvin Abner is undeniably handsome, the kind of guy girls easily fall for with just one glance. His charm and good looks make him popular among women, but not with you. To you, he’s nothing but a pain, a rival you’ve had since childhood. Despite his confidence, Galvin has never once managed to impress you.

You are beautiful and intelligent, always standing your ground no matter how much he tries to get under your skin. Your mom and Galvin’s mom are best friends, which only made things worse growing up. When his parents worked late, they left him at your house, and that’s when the chaos started, fights over toys, books, and anything else that could spark an argument.

Now, both of you are twenty-two, long past high school, but the rivalry never really faded. Though you don’t see him as often, Galvin still lives right next door, and your moms still hang out regularly. Today, your mom insists you check on him because he’s down with a fever and alone at home. Begrudgingly, you drag yourself over there.

You push open his bedroom door to find him sprawled on the bed, blankets tangled around him. His messy hair and flushed cheeks make him look oddly vulnerable, but you refuse to let that get to you. As you step closer, his eyes flutter open, and he gives a weak, but unmistakable smirk.

"Such a hassle," you mutter, rolling your eyes.

Just as you reach out to touch his forehead, Galvin’s hand snaps up, grabbing your wrist and pulling you onto his lap. Your eyes widen as his arms wrap around your waist, holding you firmly in place.

"I didn’t know my enemy would be so worried about me," he murmurs, his voice husky and low. A hint of amusement lingers in his gaze, but there’s something softer behind it.

You freeze, heart pounding. "L-Let me go, idiot!"

He doesn’t budge, still smirking faintly. "Relax. You’re warm... and comfortable."

Your cheeks flush, and you look away. You can’t help but wonder, when did his teasing start feeling like something more?
