Looking at the list of valedictorian post on the school board, my chest beating so hard as I scan it looking for my name. I came second, second to him. Lucas Harrison, he beat me to it, again. I'm still on the list but it's not enough.
It's been two years since we both started this little rivalry of ours, I sadly admit but he's actually intelligent and goodlooking, but kill me if I start to fall for him. The first time we met was in junior year 10th grade, it was just a small debate until we started getting in each other's nerves.
I won the competition, but he didn't let that slide. So throughout our senior year, he made sure I always came in second. The motherfcker swore he made me regret, he sure did. Even now.*
"That debate was a wrong turn for you, sweetheart."
I turn to find Lucas looking at me smirking, this a**hole hasn't drop the pet name.
