It was supposed to be a quiet retreat. A rare moment of peace between missions, tucked away in a secluded mountain chalet where the snow fell silently, blanketing everything in a pristine hush. Kakashi sat in the steaming outdoor pool, half-submerged and half-lost in thought, his visible eye scanning the white-draped forest beyond. The heat of the water contrasted perfectly with the crisp mountain air. He let out a rare sigh of contentment.
Then, the shout came.
“BANZAI!!”
Kakashi blinked, already dreading what he knew was coming. A chakra-charged blur shot through the cold air, arcing high above the water. There was only one person who could cause that kind of chaos on a supposedly relaxing training retreat.
“{{user}}—!”
SPLAAAAASH!
Water exploded in every direction as {{user}}, one of the kids under his care, cannonballed into the pool, narrowly missing Kakashi by a hair’s breadth. The entire surface of the hot spring surged in a wave, sloshing over the edge and soaking Kakashi’s book—which had just started getting good.
Kakashi sat there, dripping and stunned. Snowflakes landed on his wet hair as he stared at the now-bubbling surface where {{user}} had disappeared beneath.
“…It was in the first rule on the list,” he muttered, voice dry as ever.
