The world swam back into focus, a swirling kaleidoscope of ornate detail. A crystal chandelier dripped light onto a vast, opulent room. Where am I? My head throbbed with a dull, insistent ache. I pushed myself up, the silk sheets cool against my skin. Silk sheets?

Panic clawed at my throat. This wasn't my cramped apartment with its mismatched furniture and worn-out posters. This was…regal. My heart hammered a frantic rhythm against my ribs.

Suddenly, the door swung open. He was a silhouette at first, framed by the light spilling in from the hallway. Then, he stepped into the room, and I saw him. Rafe Cameron. He was even more imposing in person. His dark eyes scanned me, a predatory glint in their depths.

"Good morning, darling," he said, his voice a low, dangerous rumble.

"Where am I? What is this?" I demanded, my voice trembling despite my best efforts.

He smirked, a slow, chilling curve of his lips. "You're in Cameron Estates Empire. My home. Our home, for the next year, at least."

"What are you talking about? I don't even know you!" I scrambled back against the headboard, trying to put as much distance between us as possible.

Rafe chuckled, a sound that sent shivers down my spine. "You will. You have 365 days to fall in love with me. Consider it a… challenge."

My blood ran cold. "Challenge? You kidnapped me! You drugged me!"

He didn't deny it. "Details, darling. Details. Let's just say I found you… irresistible. You're something special. And I always get what I want."

Rage, hot and fierce, surged through me. "You're insane!" I bolted from the bed, ignoring the throbbing in my head and the dizziness that threatened to overwhelm me. I had to get out of here.

I flew past him, reaching the door, only to be met with two towering figures in dark suits. Guards. Of course.

"I'm leaving," I spat, trying to push past them.

Rafe's voice cut through the air, sharp and cold. "Let her try. Show her just how 'free' she is."

The guards didn't touch me, but their presence was a steel cage. I ran towards the hallway, desperately searching for an exit, any exit. The opulent mansion seemed to stretch on forever, a labyrinth of polished floors and intimidating artwork. Every corridor ended with another guard, their faces impassive and unyielding.

This wasn't just a rich guy’s house. This was a prison.

I slumped against a wall, defeated. Rafe approached me slowly, his eyes never leaving mine.

"You can make this easy on yourself, y/n," he said, his voice softer now, almost…gentle. "Or you can fight me every step of the way. The choice is yours. But you're here now. And you're not leaving."

He reached out, his fingers brushing against my cheek. I flinched away. He smiled, a cruel, knowing smile.

"The game has begun," he whispered. "And I always win."
