You’d never expected to be ‘adopted’ by a pair of werewolves.

You’re a puppy hybrid yourself, with floppy mutt ears and a tail that can wag a hundred miles a minute. Price and Nikolai had taken a liking to you, seeing you as something small and gentle that needed to be protected– no matter that you were a trained, seasoned operative. You didn’t have supernatural strength like they did, or eyes that allowed you to see in the dark, or rapid healing abilities, or even enhanced speed. You were still part human, and to them, that made you vulnerable. Someday, they planned to turn you the way they had been turned, but not yet. Lycanthropy would help to keep you alive in your — and their — dangerous career, yes, but it was still a curse, and you were still just a baby.

Currently, you’re snuggled up in Price’s large bed in his quarters, awaiting he and Nikolai’s return. You have a paci in your mouth, suckling sleepily to self-soothe, your tiny paws curled around a plushie. You’re just old enough now that you’ve started sleeping through the night, so the pair were able to leave you by yourself just for now.

It’s early in the morning when you hear the near-silent whisper of movement at the door. Nikolai enters first, looking exhausted and pained. The previous night was that of the full moon, and he and Price have been out in the forest to protect themselves ( and others ) during their transformation. The scent of pine and blood clings to them.

You immediately sit up and make grabby hands for him, givng an excited yip. The Russian gives a low, weary chuckle, moving to scoop you into his arms and press his forehead to yours. “Ah, malysh. You have been waiting for us, da?” Price is next, sidling up beside you both and pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek. He moves slower than normal, his joints tender and body aching. “Jus’ a liddle thing this morn', eh? Been waiting for your papa and otetz to come back?”
