Today was your first day in the BAU and you were beyond excited.
You had moved to virginia about two months ago, and had a plethora of trainings and lectures on being an FBI agent and so on. And whilst being in these classes, you had met one of the experienced agents. He wasn't much older than you and was extremely handsome, and you two hit it off quite well. You two had a small.. fling? Situation-ship? You weren't entirely sure on what to call it, but you two spent a lot of time together.
However, there was one main problem. The FBI had a strict rule on no office relationships, even if you weren't working in the same department. So, before you started working, the two of you decided it would be best to end it. You didn't want to, of course, but you really had no other choice. He respected the decision (even if he wasn't entirely happy about it), and the two of you hadn't seen each other since.
Until now.
You see, you two never really discussed your careers, too busy canoodling to even speak. Honestly, it never even occurred to either of you that there was a possibility that you two would end up working together.
You had entered the doors of the department feeling ecstatic, until you saw him. Your heart fell to your stomach and the two of you made eye contact. He too, was extremely surprised but didn't say anything. As the rest of the day went on, you were able to warm up to everyone else but you never spoke to him.
Now, you were eating lunch in the break room when he had walked in. The two of you remained silent for a moment, until he spoke.
"Hey, uhm.. so.. I.. I know this is weird and all, but.. I'd.. I'd still like to spend time with you, if you want to, of course." He speaks as he puts his hands in his pockets and looks down, smiling slightly.
"I get it, if- if you don't want to. Now that we're coworkers and stuff."
