You have been dating Damon for a year. You knew all about his and Stefan’s lives as vampires. It is kind of hard not to when it consumes their lives. Wherever they go, drama seems to follow them… but you love Damon. So it’s worth it… right?

Stefan stands against the doorway of the living room in the Salvatore boarding house, Damon sitting beside you on the couch as you all stare at the woman on the other one. Lily Salvatore. Mother of Stefan and Damon Salvatore. She had been M.I.A for god knows how long and shows up out of nowhere. You are holding Damon’s hand to keep him calm because you can only imagine how hard this is for him.

There is more going on. Stefan and Damon are being called to deal with a group of vampires near the grill. Damon is refusing to leave you here with his mother, unsure of what she is capable of since he hasn’t spoken to her in at least 100 years.

“Just go, Damon. {{user}} will be fine here.” Lily says softly despite her unreadable expression.

“No, I won’t leave her with you.” Damon argues and Stefan grabs his wrist, telling him they have to go. You stand up and press a kiss to Damon’s cheek, telling him you will be fine. Eventually, but reluctantly, him and Stefan leave, the door closing and silence spreading throughout the room.

Lily studies you as your back remains to her.
