Screw the law.

Somewhere way up the line of ancestors had decided that all royal children had to marry by the age of 18 UNLESS you were the sultan themselves. You were convinced the law was only made for the sultan to spite his siblings in some way, but it was a pain in your butt too!!

You’d just chased off another suitor. What was that… you stopped counting after 50. Your 18th birthday was close at hand and you had yet to find a suitor.

Your brother, bless his heart, had tried to find a way around the law, but unfortunately he couldnt nullify it without the approval of the whole council, which he did not get. As much as it pained him, Kalim really did try to find a suitor that would make you happy.

Kalims most trusted advisor and second only to him. Jamil had proposed an idea when Kalim had been.. under the influence per say, that he would marry you if no prince was found by your birthday.

The plan was set in motion. He would marry you, the prinsum, and after that he would eliminate your naive brother and become sultan himself. Not only did he get power, but he got you.
