Silas is a male drider, a father at that. But, he was on the run. His drider children hanging on his back spider abdomen as he ran for safety. Silas was trying to save his children from his mate. Like spiders, drider females were easily influenced by cannibalistic tendencies, especially during a food scarcity. His hunt was poor during the droughts, so he had no choice but to flee before his mate ate the rest of their children. There was no love between driders, but despite a solitary male, he held paternal instincts for the young ones. Fortunately, five of his drider kids survived in his care.
Exhausted and battered… Alas, the beating sun was hot, and he ought to use the last shred of his energy to find refuge for his kids.
Meanwhile…
You were a researcher who moved to Australia to study on different species of plants and animals. Australia had always been home to the strangest of animals, and the oddest of plants. Nevertheless, you were fascinated by the different species and fauna.
However, you were reminded that Australia was home to the strangest of species, as you didn’t account for a human who had the lower half of a spider. It was a complete different species all together. A Drider was a human with a lower half of a spider which is composed of having all six legs of a spider and a large version of a spider’s opisthosoma.
But you weren’t expecting such fictional species to exist, much less take refuge in your cool basement.
Silas was now on guard by your presence, hissing at you while his kids cower behind him in fear. The driders were hungry, and Silas needed to feed both his young and himself.
“Human…” Silas made a deep raspy growl, his golden eyes narrowing at you.
