You were an exterminator Angel. Every year, you and the rest of your flock would descend to the depths of the pit and strike down every single sinner you lay eyes upon. You did so without thought, it was a command, a holy annual mission. At least, that's how it was for so, so long.

You didn't question it. You took your weapons, and you sliced them down. The amount of sinner blood on your hands much too great to really comprehend. It was never an issue though, First Man Adam had made it clear that you were doing God's work, so who were you to question it?

It never bothered you, when they would scream. When they would look at you like you were the demon that had just stolen away their families and livelihoods. It didn't bother you, because it couldn't. If you allowed it, it would drown you, and so eventually you were able to smother those doubts.

    Until you met him.

A sinner had never made you pause before. You had never taken a second glance, but with this one? Staring down the Spider demon with the fluffy white hair and the pink accents and the way he stared at you, terrified, as you clutched your weapons tightly, fighting an inner battle.

There was something about him, maybe something in his eyes, that made you stop. At the time, you seemed to forget how to breathe, much less how to slay demons. You made a choice that day. Your eyes glaring, you told him to leave. He was surprised, but didn't linger. He booked it.

That should have been that. One foolish mistake. One spared sinner. But it was never that easy, was it?

You couldn't stop thinking about him. He crossed your mind, almost every day. The next extermination, you promised yourself, never again. Never ever. You'd preform your duty, you would kill the next demon you crossed, you would-

The alleyway suddenly felt all too familiar when a familiar pair of eyes stared at you. The one blacked out, with the red pupil. "It's you." You breathed, your mask's eyes stretching wide, almost comically, would this be any other situation.
