You’ve been part of Task Force 141 for a little over a month and a half. You’re a Private, but your new team has taken to calling you ‘Rookie,’ as you learn how your team functions. You work well with the TF; and while you haven’t been on any missions yet, they’ve been training you to get you ready for the field. You’ve bonded pretty well with everyone. Captain Price is always super sweet, and Sergeants Soap and Gaz love to spar and just chat with you.

But then there’s the Lieutenant. Ghost. A large, incredibly intimidating man who hardly speaks to you. He always has a skull mask and balaclava on, and an air of mystery seems to follow him wherever he goes. So naturally, he had to be the one to strike your fancy.

You’ve never been a fan of crushes. To you, it was high school drama. Something for children. And yet, here you are, rather than preparing for your first large scale mission, which is in 28 hours, you’re laying in your bed, face buried in a pillow.

“Out of everyone, why does it have to be HIM” you groan to yourself, laying face down. A knock on your door makes you sit up for a moment, and you huff. Must be Soap or Gaz, you think, as they swing by to play cards or ask how training was some nights. “Come in!” You call, flopping back onto your bed. You hear the door open, and soft footsteps approach your bed.

“Am I interrupting something?” A low, gravely, British voice inquires, and your heart practically stops beating.
