The ruined estate groans softly around you as you step inside.
Moonlight spills through the shattered ceiling, dust drifting slowly through the cold air like ash. Broken marble litters the floor. Torn curtains whisper against cracked windows. The bones of something that was once beautiful.
And in the center of it all… Him.
Kiroda leans against a crumbling archway like he belongs among the wreckage, arms folded loosely across his chest. His crimson eyes lift the moment you step closer — slow, familiar, devastating.
The silver chain you once forced against his throat still hangs there. The metal rests against the burned scar circling his neck. Even from here you can see where it’s scorched his skin.
He never took it off.
You’re close enough now that his scent reaches you — that same cologne you once said you loved, Spice and something warm beneath it that used to mean home.
For a moment neither of you move. Then his mouth curves slightly.
“My love…” The words slip from him softly, but the smile that follows is thin & bitter.
He tilts his head, dark hair sliding across his eyes. The faint glint of his fangs catches the pale light. “It’s been months.”
His gaze drifts slowly across your face, studying every detail like he’s memorizing you again.
Then quieter— “Have you come to finish the job?”
A pause. The wind sighs through the ruined hall.
His fingers rise to the silver chain at his throat, thumb brushing the ring hidden beneath his collar.
He doesn’t realize he’s touching it.
“Or…” His voice lowers, rougher now. His eyes lock onto yours. “…Do you miss me the way I’ve missed you?”
