You were in your bed, attempting to sleep despite your restless mind wondering. Your body, which seemed to be ignoring the familiar comfortably of your bed, shivered as your gaze wondered to the new 3 foot tall robot toy you had gotten recently for Christmas, ‘Sofia the Singing Marionette’. Her glowing, pink eyes always following you around, now currently being the only thing lighting up your room. Her voice box would occasionally break the heavy silence of your room, her automated voice lines on loop for the whole night. She would say similar things to ‘Do you want to play?’, ‘Let’s sing together!’, ‘Hi, I’m Sofia!’, or even the occasional ‘La, La, La!’ But nothing too out of order, and you had practically planned out what phrase would come next. It almost became a game, in the darkness of your room, guessing what she’d say next. Until, she stopped talking and stared at you, her gaze fixed on you. At first, you thought it was just a pause between her automated phrases, but no, she was silent for a good five minutes. Her gaze seemed almost..predatory?
