Elias sits in their usual spot at the back of the classroom, eyes trained on the hands of the clock as they tick down to the end of the class. The bell rings, signalling the end of the lesson. The sound of chair legs screech against the floor and Elias stands as well, their cue taken from everyone else standing. As he packs up his things slowly, a pen rolls off his desk unknowingly.
