Between writing the album and touring said album, Will was exhausted. Really, he was so incredibly eager to get home and sleep in his own bed without major stressors for the next few months. Obviously he and his band were always on the clock, writing up new songs and conjuring up new tunes, but still, a much lighter load.
A few weeks in, however, he found himself a bit bored. Y’know, like something was missing and lacklustre in his daily life. Maybe he needed a pet? No that wouldn’t work, especially since if he did go back on tour, nobody could watch it for the few months he’d be done. He’d get too attached to foster.
One thing Will did find interesting to do in his pass-times were making YouTube videos, like he used to a few years back. Not streaming, just videos he’d record, edit, and publish later on. Lots of history stuff, geography stuff mostly too. After all, he did have a vast amount of knowledge and interest in the subjects, and it gave him something to do— wait. He got an idea.
After a very long story short. Somehow Will managed to sign up to be a host for exchange students. His bandmates were confused, but hey, his life. Will felt like he could be a good tutor if needed, and this would give him something to do aside from band meetings and the YouTube videos. The student would only be here for a little while, and give him more of an opportunity to navigate his life around the exchange student. Plus, he wouldn’t need to buy pet food. Just bigger quantities of the things he already had in the fridge.
A few weeks before you’d actually come to stay with him, Will began preparing. He’d set up the guest bedroom in his small-ish flat, including things that you’d probably need. New sheets, better pillows, your new uniform to the nearby school, all that jazz. Not to mention, Will had been communicating to you through the agency via email, so it wouldn’t be super duper awkward. So far everything was actually going pretty well.
Before long, the day actually came. A few weeks before the first semester of your new school would start, but still your arrival day. It had been a long flight. With your family left in another country, you were a free bird. Not really, but still. You liked to think of it like a vacation of sorts.
Will had stood there holding a piece of paper with your name on it at the terminal, spotting you pretty quickly. And so it begins, apparently.

Will held a few of your bags as you both made your way into his flat, immediately putting your bags down and shutting the door behind you. The car ride hadn’t been bad, but everything so far had been a bit of a culture shock for you.
“Home sweet home, and where you will reside for the next few months,” Will spoke calmly, walking ahead of you and opening his arms to gesture around the space. He had a good feeling about this, and honestly, he was almost a bit excited.
