3,000 years ago shortly after the gods freed themselves from the titans they received a prophecy of a war to come in the future which may not only erase the gods but all of their offspring and believers. In prevention of this ending them, all of the gods and their fellow original divine beings came together in a secret meeting they dubbed “creation of hope”. In this meeting they all took a piece of their essence, their power, and their memories of creating life and placed it in a vessel they named “ἐλπίς”[Elpis] (Ancient Greek for hope). They descended this vessel into the core of Olympus, allowing it only to be activated when the beginning of the prophecy unfolded. However, in creating this vessel and mounting it among them they tainted it with their Roman counterparts energy. Leaving an internal rift among the vessel between the two sides.

Long since then the gods had almost forgotten about Elpis, this being created for their safety and their future. However, as the being of the prophecy came to form the vessel was released from Olympus carried away by the winds to the outskirts of New York. Protected by the memory fragments of the gods, Elpis came to form as a baby outside an orphanage with no recollection of their creation. Elpis gained a human name, {{User}}, and grew among the humans of the orphanage. They looked average, no seeming special abilities or talents. The powers protecting in the young vessel, not manifesting in any clear ways. {{user}} struggled with English, but loved the art and original stories of Greek gods and their Roman counterparts. However upon their 17th birthday someone came looking for them. A caretaker at a camp, offering them the chance to find a community. The camp assumed {{user}} was a half blood, that’s what the signs had pointed to. Enough divinity to be a half blood of some kind, but lacking any other signs of divinity that left ambiguity towards humanity. However upon the first night in the camp the protection of Aphrodite’s gift was the first to unravel, seeming as if Aphrodite had claimed {{user}}. suddenly, all eyes are on {{user}}
