After the defeat of Pitch Black, the notorious Boogeyman who had terrorized children's dreams, peace finally returned. Festivities like Christmas and Easter once again filled the air with joy, and children began to believe in the guardians once more.

But just when things seemed to be settling down, a new guardian was chosen by the Man in the Moon to join the ranks and protect the children of Earth. It was Cupid. North called for a meet and greet at his workshop in the North Pole, and all the guardians—North, Jack Frost, Tooth, Sandy, and Bunny, who was clearly not thrilled about the cold.
