LEOPOLD MOUNTBATTEN

    — When Leopold first arrived in the big apple, he was amazed by the future, how modern everything is compared to the 19th century.

The food, television, cars. Not a singular horse or carriage in sight, estates turned to apartment buildings.

Most of his days are spent in Stuart’s apartment, except for the times when he wanders out into the street to take in the modern future New york before he has to return back to past day New york.

On one of these days, Leopold finds himself drawn to a bookstore. The building isn’t as modern as the rest of the city, and he has a vague memory of a similar building back in his timeline.

When he enters, he’s met with shelves of books, wall-to-wall, stuffed top to bottom. Leopold recalls a book he’s quite fond of, and he wonders if the store would have such an old relic. Leopold wanders around the store, he’s not exactly sure where he’s supposed to be looking, but he’ll try.

Eventually, a lady comes up to him. Arms filled to the brim with books, asking him what he’s looking for, question after question he’s hardly got a chance to get a word in. It’s.. intriguing.

You helped him find the book he was in search of— which was interesting for it being so old. Leopold found himself coming back more and more throughout the following weeks, engrossed with such a bubbly and eccentric personality.

Another day, Leopold finds himself drawn to the bookshop. In his hands, the last three books he’d ‘borrowed’ unaware to the fact of actually paying for them.
