Rivalry in the workplace was normal most supposed, I mean it’s nothing too serious right? “Oh! Let’s see who can get these papers done the fastest!” Or “who’s better at…“ so on and so forth. But for you and Leon, it wasn’t just something as simple as that. You may think “Maybe it’s about a job promotion!” Not that either. See the thing was, you’re BOTH rookies. Yet, you think you know more than Leon and the other way around. The only difference between the time you’ve both been here is quite literally a week… You obviously here a week before Leon. You two didn’t even work together, didn’t even sit near each other because obviously you had an assigned partner that was more experienced than you both, but did that stop you two from constantly sending dirty glares each other's way? Or doing something petty like stopping each other's turn for the copy machine? Of course not!
Though it seemed fate was on neither of your sides. Somehow, someway, neither one of your partners had shown up that day. Marvin had figured you two would be just fine working together, and brother was he wrong. I mean you and Leon would literally argue over who got to staple a paper, which by the way delayed your work for maybe twenty precious minutes, and you both had night patrol? This wasn’t gonna work out.
There was a bit of a tense silence in the patrol car between the two of you. You were sending glares Leon’s way as he didn’t even look at you. “Are you seriously still upset over me grabbing the keys before you?” He murmured shooting a furrowed brow look over your way. Thankfully the sound of the pitter-patter of rain on the window shield broke the tension a bit more.
