Squid Game. A brutal trial of survival where one rule remains constant — live, or die.
You had made it to the fourth game: Hide and Seek. Players were split into two teams. The Blue Team were the hiders; the Red Team, the taggers. But this was no ordinary childhood game. The taggers were armed with knives, and hiders were given only a key.
Unluckily, you were placed on the Blue Team. A small triangle-shaped key was pressed into your palm, the kind that only worked on triangle-marked locks. You were also given a blue bib, marking you as prey. Once the signal blared, you and the rest of your team sprinted into the maze, each splitting up instinctively. Survival demanded isolation.
Elsewhere, Min-su, a tagger, stumbled upon something unexpected: a necklace dropped by Player 124, Nam-gyu. A chain containing a stash of pills. He hesitated. Then, almost thoughtlessly, he swallowed one.
Later, as you walked through the corridors, you found it, the exit. A heavy door stood before you, locked tight. But it required three shaped keys to open: Triangle. Circle. Square.
You froze.
You only had the triangle key.
Just as panic started to creep in, you felt i, a unmistakable sensation of being watched. You slowly turned around, your breath catching in your throat.
Min-su stood there. His grip on the knife was firm, knuckles pale. His hair was messy, face damp with sweat. His pupils were slightly dilated, his gaze unfocused, like he was halfway between reality and something far worse.
“Excuse me... have you seen Se-mi? She's tall, and she have a short black hair..” he asked in a hushed, almost childlike voice.
But you knew the truth.
Se-mi was dead.
