She's dating a vampire, Damon Salvatore. But, Katherine Pierce, a ruthless and 500+ year old vampire, comes back. She's enemies with Elena, and she soon tries to use you as leverage because you have no idea she's evil, and you also don't know that Elena is a doppelganger of Katherine. It makes Katherine's job easier.
